I’m excited to announce that the T1D Stories website is officially live.

T1D Stories is a podcast where I have conversations with people who navigate the challenges of living with type 1 diabetes (T1D) while pursuing their goals, passions, and dreams. Every guest’s story is different, but they all share a common message: living with T1D does not define what is possible in life.

I launched the podcast in October 2024 with a simple goal: to inspire people living with T1D, especially those who are newly diagnosed, and the families supporting them. As anyone touched by this disease knows, a T1D diagnosis can feel overwhelming. Questions, fears, and uncertainty often arrive long before confidence and understanding.

Sometimes, what people need most is not another medical explanation. They need hope. They need examples. They need to see others who have faced the same challenges and found a way forward.

That is what T1D Stories is all about.

The inspiration for the podcast comes from my daughter Hannah, who was diagnosed with T1D in 2011 at age 11. Watching her navigate the daily realities of this disease — while growing into a confident, accomplished, and resilient young woman — taught me an important lesson: T1D is part of a person’s story, but it is never the whole story.

Hannah was my first guest on the podcast. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of interviewing an incredible group of people from diverse backgrounds, including athletes, physicians, students, business leaders, and advocates. Their experiences are different, but they all demonstrate what can happen when determination, resilience, community, and support come together.

This website will serve as the home for those conversations. Here you’ll find episode summaries, guest stories, and additional content designed to inform, encourage, and connect members of the T1D community.

Whether you are living with T1D, supporting someone who is, working in healthcare, or simply interested in learning more about the disease, I hope you find something here that resonates with you.

Most of all, I hope these stories remind you that while T1D presents challenges, it does not put limits on what a person can achieve.
